Anna Elisabeth: “It’s still incredible that I wake up in the morning with clear vision”

Anna recently underwent a Femto laser surgery at Silmalaser. We asked her a few questions about her experience. Read more about her experience and why she decided to have the laser procedure.

What kind of work do you do? What are your hobbies?

I’m a graphic designer and my hobbies include watching films.

Why did you decide to have laser surgery at Silmalaser?

I had wanted to get rid of my glasses for a long time, and my eyes could no longer tolerate contact lenses. Glasses became a nuisance because I couldn’t wear them for training and I couldn’t wear sunglasses. I also often forgot them and I had difficulties finding them.

Why didn’t you dare to have the laser surgery straight away?

I was worried about the post-operative recovery, I had heard that some people’s eyesight recovers in a few weeks, and I thought laser surgery would be extremely expensive.

How was the recovery process after the surgery?

The recovery was very fast. I had some pain the first day, but it was almost completely gone by the next, and I could do what I wanted. Just in case, I avoided using the computer for the first few days. In the first week, looking up close still feels a little strange, but it’s only getting better.

In five words, how would you describe the surgery?

Excitement, fear, (my) singing, support, stress balls

How has your quality of life changed after laser surgery?

It is still incredible for me to wake up in the morning with clear eyesight and drive a car with ordinary sunglasses instead of glasses. I believe that I will have many more surprising situations ahead of me where I will be glad that I don’t have to wear glasses or contact lenses.

What do you recommend for those who are thinking about having the procedure?

Don’t be afraid! It’s worth it!
