How did you find your way to Silmalaser? How long did you consider laser surgery?
I was considering laser surgery for a couple of years, and because I had heard about people’s positive experiences with the Silmalaser, I decided to go for it.
Four years without glasses—do you feel the decision and investment has paid off?
ABSOLUTELY! To this day, I still often think to myself how lucky I am that I don’t have to wear glasses every day. There are so many advantages to a life without glasses. It was the best decision I could have made!
Now, thinking back, what were the reasons you decided to have laser surgery?
Since I wear makeup daily and my job involves a lot of being in front of the camera, I felt that the glasses were hiding my fierce makeup and big eyes. There were also always issues with adjusting the lighting so that it didn’t reflect off the lenses.
In winter, I was often bothered by foggy glasses, and going to the spa was basically out of the question. I couldn’t go with my glasses, and without them, my vision was so poor that I could not enjoy my time there or properly relax. I could actually go on and on listing the reasons!
How did you feel after the surgery, when your vision had recovered and you could see the world around you without glasses? Did anything exciting or unexpected happen?
I remember this overwhelming feeling of gratitude. I was grateful that such an option existed and grateful to myself that I had decided to have the surgery. For quite a while, every morning I thought about how great it is to wake up and see without having to put my glasses on!
What have been the greatest pleasures and discoveries of a life without glasses? What makes you happiest about having clear vision?
I enjoy going to the spa and swimming in summer without having to think about taking my glasses off. I love being able to see myself in the mirror while putting on makeup without having to press my nose against it. I enjoy wearing sunglasses. I love being able to see at every moment.
What are some of those “small things” that you don’t even notice anymore but used to be a pretty annoying part of your life?
I used to worry that I wouldn’t recognise people I know from a distance, but I don’t have that concern anymore. It’s also great that I can now save the money I used to spend on glasses.
What would you recommend for those considering the surgery?
I would recommend you to take the first step right away and go for a pre-operative examination! I don’t know a single person who regrets getting laser eye surgery, and the temporary discomfort is 100% worth it when you can actually see with your own eyes!
